Examples of Extra Credit
- Run the mile: Schedule a mile run with me in advance. Then come and do the run before or after school to earn 10 points back.
- Write a one-page report: Read an article from a magazine, a book, or the internet about health, sports, nutrition, an athlete,or anything having to do with physical education (If you aren't sure, check with me first). Write one page or more summarizing the article, describing why the article is important to you, and how the information in the article can help you to be a healthier human being. Include the report and the article when you submit it to me. As long as your summary makes sense and is not full of errors, you get 10 points back.
- Keep a food/ exercise diary for a week: For one week, write down everything that you eat and drink. Also, list all the exercise that you do during that week. At the end of the week, write a paragraph describing how you could improve your diet/ exercise habits. For example, you can talk about cutting out junk food, exercising daily, etc. This one is worth 20 points if you do it well.
- Make a list of your health goals: Write down 2 health goals that you have for yourself. Then write a paragraph for each one describing how you are going to make those goals come true in your life. Worth 10 points.
- Complete an exercise video: Choose one of the exercise videos listed on the P.E. resources page of my website. Complete all of the exercises in the video while being supervised by a guardian (parent, grandparent, etc.) and have that person write me a note saying that you completed the video. Include the name of the video and a guardian's signature. Each video is worth 10 points.
